Shap

Shap is a somewhat exposed and windswept village just off the M6 (pictured above in the distance) at its highest point on the eastern side of the English Lake District.

The Coast to Coast Walk passes through the village. Nearby attractions include Shap Abbey and Haweswater to the west.

There is also an outdoor swimming pool (pictured above) which is usually open during the summer.
